Apollo Bay is beautifully located on the foreshore with the undulating Otway Ranges as a backdrop. Apollo bay is the gateway to Cape Otway and has ample of places to see and things to do that will keep the whole family entertained. The golden beaches in and around Apollo Bay offer many isolated places that make you feel as if you are the only one there.

The Gadubanud people are the traditional owners of the Apollo Bay area and much of the Otways. Apollo Bay was originally named Krambruk an Aboriginal word for Sandy Place. A tragic shipping disaster is accredited to Apollo Bay, when on 10 July 1932 a coastal steamer named Casino, was hit by a freak wave when berthing at the town’s jetty, sinking and claiming 10 people lives.
