Cavendish is a quaint small town beautifully nestled next to the Wannon River with a picture perfect backdrop of the Victoria Ranges. Settlers Walk along the river front has been dedicated to the Early Soldier Settlement era, the walk is fantastic in the early morning as the fog lifts from the water drawn by the morning sun. A beautiful short scenic drive also can be taken East towards the Grampians along Victoria Point Road, where you can connect to the famous Dunkeld Victoria Valley Drive and complete a round trip.

19 Km North of Cavendish, on the Henty Highway towards Horsham, is Woohlpooer State Park, beaming with wildlife from kangaroos, Emus, Echidnas, to tortoises.
There is a vigorous walk and climb to the top
of a rock formation called the Chimney Pots, about 5.6 km return journey with some hard
to follow sections. A map is a good idea
to obtain prior to this climb.

Alternatively an easier walk is available a short drive further north towards Horsham called Buandik. A place you can see several Aboriginal art sites
